Journey into the human body

An introduction into digital imaging. Students might be familiar with x-ray, but a human body is not just made of bone. There are other soft tissues and organs that cannot be captured on x-rays. In this short exhibit, students will see how a brain, a pair of legs etc look like and learn about the various types of scans that “photograph” the human body and how these are important in development treatment.

This is what you’ll need:
- Selection of scans (from x-ray, ct scans to mri scans) of various parts of the body (head, arm, leg, liver, heart) About 4 scans. (sixe of scans 14.2 inch by 17 inch)
- Light-boxes to display the scans
- Explanatory posters (may need some lighting)
- Giant puzzle of organs – eg brain and heart
- A “tunnel” or “dark room” to be constructed.
